Linz will once again become the hub of European cinema!
Under the new direction of Sabine Gebetsroither and Katharina Riedler, there will be around 130 feature films, documentaries and short films from all over Europe, including some 50 contributions with a connection to Upper Austria.
This year’s Tribute section is dedicated to Belgian Fabrice du Welz, who is known for his genre-bending works between horror, drama and thriller, and renowned Linz artist Dietmar Brehm will present two hand-picked short film programs in a Local Artists Special.
As every year, the 2022 festival offers the opportunity for direct exchange with attending filmmakers.
The festival venues are the established Moviemento & City-Kino and the OÖ Kulturquartier with the Ursulinensaal. The Central is back for the second time.
Talk events, YAAAS! youth program and musical Nightline at OK Platz and OK Deck are planned.
In addition to the physical film experience, CROSSING EUROPE @ HOME will again feature festival elements online for home viewing.
