We’re re-opening!
From December 17 and until January 9, the two exhibitions “Female Sensitivity” and “Ida Maly” are on view at the Lentos Kunstmuseum in Linz.
Female Sensitivity – At a time when art first had to declare itself female in order to gain its place in the art canon, it was female artists such as VALIE EXPORT, Birgit Jürgenssen, Cindy Sherman and many others who accessed their bodies. This art epoch was given the term “feminist avant-garde” by curator Gabriele Schor, as they were pioneers who paved the way for equality in art.
Ida Maly – Long before women artists took a recognized and equal place in art, Ida Maly was one of the many lone fighters who perished at the bulwarks of society. Her canon of works reflects the path between styles with a delicate, sensitive formal language.
