The cultural blossoming of a city springs from artistic events!
Literature, reading books and meeting authors are the focus of the Literature Tour in Linz. From Adalbert Stifter to Karl May, who have left their mark on Linz, you can follow in the footsteps of Linz literature from yesterday to today.
On the Literature Tour, you’ll not only get to know the city and its literary bases, but you’ll also get to talk to people about literature.
A guided tour of the city by tourism director Georg Steiner and a meeting with Norbert Trawöger, artistic director of the Bruckner Orchester Linz and artistic director of the Kepler Salon, who is an author, musician and speaker, will open the literary gateway.
Author Claudia Lehner will lead a tour of the StifterHaus, located in the former home of Adalbert Stifter. Here is the Adalbert Stifter Institute, a research center for literature and linguistics, and since 1993 the Upper Austrian Literature House. Literaturhaus with events and the Literature Museum.
The coffee house literary figure has gone down in Austrian cultural history. And where better to trace this than in a literary meeting place such as Café Traxlmayr or the traditional Café Maier? Meet authors Heidi Kastner and Lisa-Viktoria Niederberger, among others.
The circle to youth culture is also closed. From author, moderator and poetry slam veteran Sevi Agostini, you can learn cheerful anecdotes in a direct exchange and what drives the poetry slam scene.
