The light falls on paper and a new world emerges!
For a long time, photography had to fight to be recognized as an art form at all. The philosopher Walter Benjamin spoke in 1936 about the work of art in the age of its technical reproducibility and the associated change in art.
The exhibition Photography+Transcendence brings together 10 artists from Austria and Germany who, with their different techniques in photography, thematize the going beyond, the transgression of the actual in relation to the object.
As multi-layered as transcendence may seem, the exhibition is conceived as multi-layered, complex and with an outward gaze, inviting the viewer to engage with the intangible.
