“Wave” is an audiovisual experience, a wave of light and sound in the entrance area of the Schlossmuseum in Linz. The walk-through installation, created by Squidsoup and measuring 20 x 6 meters, consists of 500 hanging light spheres equipped with loudspeakers, motion sensors and mini-computers. The Squidsoup collective includes artists, scientists, technicians and designers in equal measure.
The group is concerned with the technical translation of natural phenomena, such as the undulation of ocean waves. The result is “Wave,” an immersive work of art that transports visitors into a landscape full of sound and light. Each point of light interacts with its neighbor, and together they move, accompanied by a swelling and subsiding soundscape.
