With a fireworks display of ideas for the next generation, the Salzburg Festival is making a strong statement in its children’s and youth program in this extended anniversary year of 2021. The idea of the festival as a work of peace forms the unifying bracket around the diverse contributions. The entire province of Salzburg will become a stage with jung&jede*r as early as May 2021. “From Abtenau to Zell am See”, the Salzburg Festival will travel and show six mobile productions for children and young people from the age of six in cooperation with local cultural associations and organizers. Schoolchildren experience the performance either directly in their own classroom, at a cultural center near them or on stage at the Salzburg Museum. In combination, a visit to the provincial exhibition Great World Theater – 100 Years of the Salzburg Festival as well as an intensive examination under the motto ABC of the Stage is possible. Interested school classes of all types are additionally invited to develop their own peace projects thematically based on the mobile productions together with experts, artists and educators in participatory projects.
