Theater for a young audience. From robot musicals to low carb diets for young women, the theater productions of the youth theater festival range in topics where inclusion and participation are writ large.
The Schäxpir Festival is a theater festival for young audiences with many participatory formats. High-quality artistic productions of international standing will determine the program together with Austrian plays and regional partners.
SCHÄXPIR mobilizes supernatural, “super natural” forces to dive into different worlds with theater, dance, performance and music. Questions of bodies of the future, community, utopias in analog and digital space, climate, globalization and its consequences for art and nature are the compass on these journeys.
Among other things, “Geht’s uns net guad” – a play about the workers’ settlement on the Ennsleite – will be shown. “Hold your horses” – six performers awaken the dance concert to live sounds of rough guitar music. “The story of AK and mankind” – the play asks about the value of man. In addition, there are five world premieres and various Austrian premieres. A series of discourse formats rounds out the program.
