“Graz Backstage” examines the past, present and future of the city’s supply and waste management infrastructure.
In a kind of mobile, multi-local symposium with musical accompaniment and culinary emergency supplies, a motor coach and a pop-up exhibition take you to various infrastructure nodes that were and are of great importance for the management of the “metabolism” of the city of Graz.
However, these rieisige agglomerations are also working and living spaces of experts in supply and disposal, which make everyday well-being in the city possible: Therefore, each tour leads from historical sites such as the old railroad station post office, vegetable market and slaughterhouse or the waste disposal in Sturzgasse to current places such as the container terminal in Cargo Center Süd, Swissport air freight, the brand new distribution center of Post AG, the SPAR and REWE central warehouse, as well as the waste disposal facilities of Saubermacher and SERVUS.
