In five chapters, the exhibition builds a bridge from the collection’s focus on “mountains” to the eight artistic positions created in the Vorarlberg high mountains during the two-week SilvrettAtelier Montafon 2020. The selected works illustrate the different approaches of artists to the mountains. It is about places of longing, summit victories, but also about interventions of the tourism industry in nature. On display are mountain views of famous alpinists as well as classic land art projects, witty replicas of famous peaks as “mountains to go” or photographic panoramas of our domesticated high mountain landscape.
