The Oberösterreichischer Kunstverein presents works by Constance Ferdiny Hoedemakers and Barbara Lindmayr. The works of Constance Ferdiny Hoedemakers and Barbara Lindmayr are not images of their environment, they show their own worlds, images and objects that are inspired by the real, but in their expression largely elude it or reproduce it in an altered form. Ferdiny Hoedemakers uses porcelain or stoneware as her working material, while Lindmayr works with ink, ballpoint pen on paper or embroiders her pictures.
The materials of the two artists are very different, but what they have in common is their approach to the material: they start from the material, they try to trace the basic character of the material, to modify it, to exhaust it, they bring it into unusual contexts for our visual habits, thus granting new insights and perspectives and yet conveying a lucid lightness. Important here is the synthesis between material and form.
