An exhibition by Abiona Ester Ojo and Huda Takriti is on view at Kunsthalle am Karlsplatz in Vienna. “Weaving Truths, Untangling Fictions” features works that explore the interweaving of documentary as well as narrative elements, the confrontation of past and present, and the breaking of the boundaries of space and time. In her profound installation The Magic is in Every Strand, Abiona Esther Ojo fans out the socio-political implications of “Afro-Hair” from both cultural-historical and personal perspectives. The jury justified their decision for Huda Takriti’s diploma as follows: ” … [Her] perfectly executed multimedia installation of cities and private living roomsweaves factual and fictional elements, private and collective archives, analog and digital images into a polyphonic narrative that functions like a political subconscious.
