The Wir sind Wien Festival takes place and brings a whole range of colourful events to the districts. First of all, there are the “Baulückenkonzerte” which take place between 15 and 19 July and feature artists such as Garish, Hot Pants Road Club, Violetta Parisini and Fennesz in Neu Marx. Cultic live music on boats can be heard at the atmospheric “boat concerts” on the old Danube. Children will find entertainment at the Opéra Comique “Little Red Riding Hood”, at Beethoven concerts and the fairytale comedy “Midsummer Night’s Dream”. The “Diary Slams in the Parks” entertain with all the youthful embarrassment and infatuation that teenage diaries give off. For the first time, the festival programme continues in August and September.
