The Künstlerhaus Graz reopens on 19.05. with the exhibition “I borrowed optimism from the past” by Sonja Gangl.
The artistic work of Sonja Gangl is characterized by a deep examination of the mediatized reality of life. The artist turns our world into her motif, leaving none of its many facets out of consideration. The Austrian artist is best known for her outstanding naturalistic drawings and the consistent questioning of this medium. With her solo exhibition “I borrowed optimism from the past” at Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst & Medien, Gangl is now opening a new chapter in her artistic work and turning to abstraction with a comprehensive new production.
