Guaranteed mobile-free zone! In the Landesgalerie Linz, Paul Kranzler and Andrew Phelps document their stay in the Green Bank area as well as the Green Bank Observatory in West Virginia, USA, with a photo exhibition. In the 1950s, scientists declared the area a National Radio Quiet Zone. In this “radiation-free” zone scientists search for traces of extraterrestrial life with the use of the Drake Equation. Natural landscapes interspersed with seemingly grotesque, gigantic telescopes and a unique community of researchers, electro-sensitive, local families, as well as bear hunters are all part of the picture.
