Realists of the postwar period. Two artists braced themselves against to the fantastic and abstract zeitgeist.
Anti-fascism in sculpture and graphic work: Alfred Hrdlicka and Fritz Martinz were never avoiding confrontation with their works. They belong to the generation of those post-war artists who plainly depicted the conditions of their time without trying to whitewash the facts. Powerful and with a tremendous gesture. Two artists whom we bitterly miss today.
