Verbindung zwischen Kunst und Kirche im Kunsthaus Graz.
Diözese Graz-Seckau is celebrating its anniversary with an unusual project that combines contemporary art and religion. This exhibition will shape many different places in Graz and will connect some large institutions like Kunsthaus Graz and cultural centre Minoriten for the first time ever.
The project focuses on the connection between art and the church, both of which claim to shape society as a whole. The curators look at the tension between values like mercy, solidarity and anachronistic criticism of specifically Catholic values. In doing so, they explore important interfaces between the church and art. The most important issues are the three theological virtues faith, love and hope.
