The Aspekte-Festival for contemporary music deals with the subject of “moving pictures” and thereby shifts the usual relations of music and film. Music is no longer an “accessory” of the medium film but rather an art form on eye level. Steve Reich’s “Different Trains” forms the basis of a video installation. Fausto Romitelli’s “An Index of Metals” was turned into a psychedelic video opera. The festival’s director, Ludwig Nussbichler, promises a programme that is “energetic and eccentrical”. With premieres, for instance by Alexandra Karastoyanova or Peter Jakobinger.
